Silver with Katelyn Ohashi

The Katelyn Ohashi "Drop It Like It's Hot" gymnastics meet was held for the first time in Billings, Montana on January 19-21, 2024. Eastern Montana Gymnastics, along with teams from North Dakota, Montana, Idaho, Wyoming and South Dakota, attended the Silver and Gold sessions. Kendra Linder, of Glendive, had the highest all-around and vault scores out of all 96 Gold gymnasts and Ava Hove, of Circle, had the highest balance beam score out of all Gold gymnasts. On the team side of things, the Silver team finished seventh out of 16 teams, while the Gold team placed second out of 16 teams. EMG's next meet will be in Watford City, ND on February 10.

Kama Urton was raised in Vida and graduated from Circle High School with the class of 2005. She graduated from the University of North Dakota with Bachelor's degrees in Medical Laboratory Science, Psychology and General Studies. She retired from gymnastics at age 23, after competing Level 8 for many years for Eastern Montana Gymnastics. After completing her clinical rotation in Sioux Falls, SD and working at a clinic laboratory for a year, Kama moved back to Circle in 2012, where she worked full-time in the laboratory at McCone County Health Center and took over EMG from her parents, John and DeeAnn. She continues to work part-time for MCHC as the lab manager, is on the national Board of Directors for the Appaloosa Horse Club and of course, manages and coaches at EMG. In her free time, Kama enjoys spending time with her husband, Teddy, and 2-year-old daughter, Embri, and trains and shows Appaloosa horses.
