Tuesday, January 16, 2024

At the hour of 10:00 a.m., the Board of Commissioners of McCone County, Montana,

met in regular session with Alan Stempel, and Lonny Jensen present. Acting Presiding Officer Lonny Jensen called the meeting to order. The pledge of allegiance was recited. The agenda was

approved.

The January 8, 2024 minutes were approved as amended.

There were no Committee Reports.

The Board held the second reading of the resolution for establishing Justice Court Office

Hours for 2024. Commissioner Stempel moved to approve Resolution #24-01-16(A) and

Commissioner Jensen seconded. The motion passed 3-0. (A copy of the resolution is on file in the Commissioners' files.) The second reading of the resolution establishing per diem, and mileage rates for 2024

was held. Commissioner Stempel moved to approve Resolution #24-01-16(B) and Commissioner Jensen seconded. The motion passed 3-0. (A copy of the resolution is on file in the Commissioners' files.)

The Board held the second reading of the resolution establishing the daily rate of credit

for incarceration for 2024. Commissioner Stempel moved to approve Resolution #24-01-16© and Commissioner Jensen seconded. The motion passed 3-0. (A copy of the resolution is on file in the Commissioners' files.)

Allen Rosaaen, South Road Foreman met with the Board to discuss the Road Priority

Maintenance List for 2024. The Board updated the McCone County Road Priority Maintenance

List for FY 2024.

Allen Rosaaen, South Road Foreman, met with the Board to discuss equipment repairs and the frozen water line at the South Shop. The Board approved a vehicle repair for the North Shop for $2,000.

The meeting was opened to public participation at 1:00 p.m.

Nancy Stempel, GIS Coordinator, met with the Board to discuss maps, grants, and Commissioner Districts. Commissioner Stempel abstained from the discussion.

Virginia Richardson, TAC Supervisor, by phone, and Paul Skyberg, Sheriff, by phone, and Sherry Kluth, Clerk and Recorder, met with the Board to discuss a personnel and budget issue.

Sherry Kluth, Clerk and Recorder, and Nancy Stempel, GIS Coordinator, met with the Board to discuss the Commissioner Map, and the Precinct Map. The Board tabled the decision to approve the final maps. Commissioner Stempel abstained from the discussion.

Suzette Wagner, Maintenance, met with the Board, by phone, to discuss repairs at the courthouse. The Board approved the repair of the handrail in the courthouse.

The Board continued to research the tax changes required by the state requirements to collect the difference between the 77.9 mills and 95 mills leading to an increase in the state budget surplus.

Correspondence occupied the Board the remainder of the day.

The meeting adjourned at 5:00 p.m.
