The Circle of Life

November 22, 2023

Thanksgiving is once again gone for another year, and the ole ‘Round Town gears up for the next holiday! Many folks have already or are soon to be putting up Christmas lights. The hustle and bustle of the holidays never fails to amaze me. I recently sat down with a local small business owner before Thanksgiving; much of the conversation centered around what the future of Circle looked like, what we would we are grateful for, and what changes need to happen. I have always been proud of the fact that I am from this area. This community takes care of each other. This business owner and I also discussed how so many people in town are looking for employees. I reached out to the courthouse, hoping to find out the unemployment rate of McCone County. Circle has many people that can work, but are not. I’m not saying everyone needs a job to be a valuable contributor to society, but Circle is a community that will take care of its own. Right now, Circle needs people to step up, work, or volunteer, and the community needs every single person to care and help. It takes a village to sustain a village. When I moved back to Circle, I wasn’t sure if there were any jobs or a real future here, but having been here for a year now, I can say it seems many businesses are looking for someone reliable and eager to work. This is a call for a community in need of help. The community needs you, whether you grew up here or moved here from somewhere else. If you have extra time on your hands, please go fill out an application. Volunteer at the theater or EMS. In my conversation with this local business owner, they made a great point to me, that this small community could be a beautiful little town that people would enjoy visiting and possibly move to, and one major way to make that happen, would take all local homeowners in this community to take pride in how there property looks and understand that every house and property represents this town good or bad. I would like to encourage the property owners in this community that have run down houses and property's that are abandoned to reach out to the public, weather its with the Circle Banner or somewhere else and sell the property to someone that will develop and clean it up. With all the community working together we can turn this town around to the nice little town we all know it can be. We still live in one of the safest and friendliest communities in Montana! We should be proud of that and keep it going! The Circle of Life symbol is one of life and wholeness, unity. We could think of Circle with the Circle of Life symbol. It takes unity to keep things going. No pressure, but like I said, if you have extra time or know someone who does, go fill out an application somewhere or volunteer. Let’s keep this community going and thriving. Let’s keep it a place we can all call home and be proud of!
