McCONE COUNTY, MONTANA

Monday, October 23, 2023

At the hour of 10:00 a.m., the Board of Commissioners of McCone County, Montana, met in regular session with Alan Stempel, and Lonny Jensen present. Presiding Officer Alan Stempel called the meeting to order. The pledge of allegiance was recited. The agenda was approved.

The October 16, 2023 minutes were approved as read.

There were no Committee Reports.

Suzette Wagner, Maintenance, met with the Board to discuss the upcoming winter storm, and maintenance issues.

Nita Crockett, Treasurer, met with the Board to present the Cash Reconciliation and Investment Report for September, 2023. Commissioner Jensen moved to approve the report and Commissioner Stempel seconded. The motion passed 2-0. Nita presented the Delinquent Tax report. The delinquent taxes are $74,050.49. (Copies of the reports are on file in the Commissioners' files.)

The meeting was opened to public participation at 1:00 p.m.

Paul Skyberg, Sheriff, met with the Board to discuss a personnel issue, and law enforcement issues.

The Board tabled the discussion on the 95 mill levy issue.

Allen Rosaaen, South Road Foreman, Cary Phillips, Leadman, and the Board conducted interviews for the South Road Crew position.

Trevor Derksen, Deputy Sheriff, met with the Board to discuss potential grants, and the 1033 program.

Nita Crockett, Treasurer, Paul Skyberg, Sheriff, Savannah Hanson, Clerk of Court, Virginia Richardson, PSAP Manager, and Nancy Stempel, GIS Coordinator met with the Board to review the McCone County Policy and Procedures Manual.

The Board prepared and reviewed the Taxpayer Letter for distribution.

Correspondence occupied the Board for the rest of the day.

The meeting adjourned at 5:00 p.m.
