Brockway Briefs

 


A late afternoon hailstorm July 11th raised havoc with crops around Brockway. Several farmers reported extreme damage to pea, lentil and grain crops while others lucked out and received little or no hail and just some much needed rain. Grasshoppers are still eating away at profits, despite aggressive measures by farmers to destroy them. Farmers and ranchers are busy putting up grass, alfalfa and grain hay and should soon replenish depleted hay yards. There have been several small fires reported caused by haying equipment and operators are keeping their water trucks and fire extinguisher...
