Locals used to call it a million dollar rain. These days with inflation, maybe it's a billion dollar rain. Regardless, it is a blessing. The countryside is a beautiful and green, a site to behold! Crops are looking good, but those pesky grasshoppers and now fungus, are a constant battle for farmers who would like to see a bountiful harvest after several years of drought. Hail is always a concern and McCone County farmers would like to dodge that bullet. Cattle are enjoying grass up to their bellies and haying is underway even with rain delays. Life is good.
