Last year, having missed a normal early January deadline, I got a MEANDERINGS New Year's resolution column in to the BANNER in time for the beginning of the Chinese New Year. I see that this year I'm already well past even that (culturally appropriated) date—January 23rd.

Decembers and Januarys are just too full of birthdays, Christmases, anniversaries, yet more birthdays, not to mention, increasingly so what with the onslaught of my advancing years,...
