Albert Maves of Brockway and Miss Nellie Smith of Hazel were united in marriage.

BROCKWAY NOTES

Trigger slipped on the ice Sunday and burned hos trousers, poor kid. Marion Downing came to class with the Algebra problem worked---Shark. Everette Boyd, Harold Czoernig and Sigrid Hinnaland were working on the ice gang this week. Joe Vest was a caller in Brockway from Friday to Sunday. Mr. Malcolm was a caller in Brockway over the weekend. Willie Meyers and George Neigle spent Sunday here. Lenora is happy since the ice gang has been in Brockway. WANTED TO KNOW -Why Myra walked home Tuesday , when Herb's Taxi was 'rarin' to go? Johanna Brown was very liberal with her Valentines the other day. Miss Evelyn Larson made a business trip to Circle Tuesday.

SEED CAMPAIGBN COMING GOOD

The seed relief campaign carried by the McCone County Farm Bureau is yielding good results and if the next week has as good a showing as the last week has , sufficie3nt amount of seed will have been donated to assist materially the hailed out section of the county. VICTIM OF FLU

Miss Madeline Arnett, a 15 year old High School girl passed away last evening, following a brief attack of the Flu which later developed into pneumonia.

13 POUND BOY

Mr. and Mrs. George Hayes of Lost Creek are the happy parents of a big baby BOY which arrived at their home last Saturday. The young fellow tipped the scales at 13 pounds, and certainly will be classed with the heavy wights right off the bat.

Idaho Falls-Dr Lew Berger, a Ku Klux Klan officer, speaking here a few days ago, made the statement that Watt Daniel and T.F. Richard were alive and under surveillance in New Orleans, and would be produced at the proper time at the trial of the men who are charged with their murder.

West Orange, NJ-Thomas A Edison said that he had offered the United Stated Navy 45 inventions since he had been president of the naval consulting board, but that all of them had been rejected. "Navy officers seen to resent ideas for the betterment of the navy rather than to welcome them." He said.

$20,000 FIRE A HABER FARM

About 3:00AM Thursday morning fire was discovered in a large machine shed and garage out a the Theo Haber farm, about ten miles west of Circle....The loss of building and equipment is estimated at $20,000 with very little insurance. Among the items lost in the fire were two farm tractors and, two model A cars, a 1947 Plymouth Sedan, hundreds of bushels of seed wheat, 100 bushel seed flax, $2,000worth of new lumber stored in building for future new barn, new Packer and other machinery, including welding equipment and other machine shop tools and equipment. The cause of the fire is still a mystery.

A little three old daughter od MR and MRs Clifford Kassner became seriously ill first of the week and was taken to hospital in Glendive.

TOUGH CONVICT EATS NAILS, ODD COLLECTION IN STOMACH

Lansing,KS-Three and a half pounds of metal-including two complete safety razors without blades-was the yield of an operation on the stomach of an inmate of Kansas State prison. IN addition to the razors, the list included five metal washers, 401 nails, a 3 in screw, a couple of 2 in stove bolts, a 2 in nut, a large brass washer, 11 thumb tacks, a quarter-inch screw and 60 small metal objects including paperclips and safety pins.

OPEN HOUSE TO HONOR DR. HASTETTER

An open house will be held in honor of Dr N.J. Hastetter, Circle physician, on Sunday February 18 at the Memorial Building. The event will begin at 2PM and the public is cordially invited by the Jaycee's and the members of about 20 sponsoring organizations. Dr Hastetter has served her for the past eleven years an according to committee members, "the day was planned to show a token of the appreciation to Dr Hastetter for his many years of faithful service to the community".

Mr and Mrs Leo Brost, Brockway announce the engagement of their daughter, Darlene Jill, to Nolan Scott Hughes, son of Mr and MRs Scott Hughes, Broadus Stage.

BROCKWAY

Dale and Ruth Bond left Wednesday afternoon for Billings, and on to Hawaii Thursday Morning, for several days' vacation, which they won through RCA. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Spears are at Brockway staying with the Bond children. Brockway Bullpups played the Circle grades Tuesday evening winning with 31-26 score. Maybelle Steele took her mother Mrs. Watt, to the Dr Friday afternoon for a checkup. Martha Brost hosted a fish fry at the home of Mildred Wolff Sunday evening. Those attending were Emma Meissner, Lydia Maier, Ida Schmidt, Irene French, Caroline Spidel, Anne Sowle, Mildred Wolff, Mary Wangen, Fern Guldborg, and Martha Brost. Maybelle Steele had a birthday supper for Lucetta Steele Sunday evening. MIckyee Dexter and children spent the weekend at the Brost home.

VIDA

Angela Loendorf entertained at the bridge club Monday afternoon. The Boots Ericksons visited the Arnie Leuenbergers at Ferndale Washington. Enroute home from Los Angeles. Bob and Carol Erickson spent the weekend in Billings where Kermit Erickson is a patient in St Vincent hospital. Duane VanAtta, Diane and Jeanne Schillinger were home from Billings over the weekend. Friends of Bud Erickson are glad to know he is improving at St. Vincent's hospital in Billings from burns and injuries suffered in the plane crash near Circle Feb 4th.

FRIENDSHIP

Betty Switzer visited Betty Jensen one afternoon last week. Earl and Betty Jensen visited with Helen and Jim Kirkegard Wednesday night. Kami Rittal is visiting her Grandam Lucille Jensen while her mother is sick. Last Sunday Milton and Wanda Rossaland and their two daughters were guests at the George A. Mahlstedts. Elaine and Dick Schara had breakfast at the Twitchell home after the Ball on Saturday night. Monday, Arlene Kniepkamp, Norma Jensen, and Cloey Scheer had lunch with Joan Goodale to celebrate her birthday.

BROCKWAY BAR HOLD FIRST ANNUAL FISHING TOURNEY

FLADLAND FILES FOR SHERIFF Alert "Corky" Fladland has filed for Sheriff/Coroner of McCone County on the Democratic ticket.

The tournament was held at Rock Creek with seven teams participating. The entry fee was $50 with prize money given out for three categories: Largest Walleye, Ling and Northern. The winners were, C.J. Reid and Dave Ackley with largest Ling at 35 ¾ inches; C.J. Redi and Dace Ackley with the largest Northern at 33 ¾ inches; and Kevin Guldborg and Conrad Moline with the largest Walley at 20 inches. The "crying towel" should go to the team of Wayne French and Oddvar Idland, who had so much fun fishing, they forgot to catch any fish.

OVER THE COFFEE CUP

Recently, Leo and Agnes Schmidt flew to Colorado to spend a few days with Leo's brother, Dan, who was seriously ill. At last report it is said that Dan is somewhat improved, but still in intensive care. Sunday, Cloey Sheer caught a ride to Billings with Alan Scheer, who was going there for respiratory therapy at Deaconess Hospital. Cloey spent the time with her sister, Viola Unruh, and also saw Holly and Marty Clemow, and Michele and Meilssa Scheer.
