Chamber of Commerce Banquet the Chamber of Commerce annual banquet was on Saturday January 28th, 2023. With a huge surprise, we are so Thankful to gifted with half of the proceeds from this event this year! We are so lucky to have such a wonderful community who supports our Seniors and our wonderful Center! Thank you so much for all the folks who supported, bought and donated to this event!

Pinochle tourney February 12th is our next Tournament! Cost is $5.00 at 1:30 p.m. Last month's Tournament was canceled. Come on down and enjoy some snacks and laughs and great time!

Pop Up Valentines Day Sale Event Hosted by Prairie Pickins -Connie Idland will have the Center open on Monday the 13th from 9-5 pm selling Fresh Flowers, Gift Baskets, Chocolates, Jewelry and Jewelry Boxes, Strawberries, Candies and plants. If you need a quick gift shop in and check out her merchandise.

Circle Insurance Agency is buying everyone a valentine's Day Meal! Our Valentine's Day Dinner will Be held on Tuesday the 14th and they have been very generous to purchase all congregate, home delivered and curbside meals this day! Thank you so much! I know everyone will love this! Wooden Nickel will be serving Chicken in Wine Sauce! Stop down for a meal! Please RSVP by February 13th. A sign-up sheet will be at the center to get your name on the list or give us a call at 406-485-2418.

CCOA meeting – Wednesday 15th at 9:00 a.m. is our bi-monthly meeting.

Insight optics Heidi will be here on February 21st. You need to see her large display she brings with her of eyewear! If you have a current prescription from you eye doctor and you are in need of a great deal and a new pair of glasses this is your chance! She also does repair and adjustments! This is open for all ages! Bring down the kiddos or stop in on your lunch breaks! She will be there from 10:00 am – 2:00 p.m. and set up in our conference room!

AAA MEETING – Thursday 23rd, I will be attending an all-day meeting with 17 other counties and learning all kinds of new things and discussing training and class opportunities. I will be unavailable most of the day but leave me a message and I will be back to you as soon as I can.

Emergency Pendants Alarms- Friday the 24th right after our meal I will be discussing more about this system and helping folks purchase this. Please plan to come whether it is for yourself in need or know someone who does need this!

This is purchased on Amazon, and it comes with a wrist and a necklace panic button and will call up to 3 numbers you choose to program for help when you push the button. This is for home use; a land line is needed unless you purchase the adapter separately to use with a cell phone. THERE IS NO CONTRACTS, NO MONTHLY FEE BUT ONLY A ONE TIME FEE OF $129.77.

Soup Bar This will be the last month that soup will be offered for the season. Soup Bar will return in October! So happy you have all enjoyed the soups!!

Senior Companion

Are you helping or caring for a friend, neighbor, acquaintance or loved one on a regular basis? Maybe just want something to do with all your free time? Maybe Needing a little extra money that is paid a tax-free cost reimbursement stipend of $3.15 per hour (now until April 1, 2023, where you will then receive $4.00/hr.)

The wage is non-declarable for ANY purpose.

Requirements: Must be 55 or older, work a minimum of 5 hours/week or up to 40hrs a week (if you choose).

Visit your clients Regularly, remain in contact via phone when unable to have visits, be a good listener, be considerate of their desires or needs, abide by rules, be confidential, be a friend and offer assistance and guidance to keep the individuals independence. Report any concerns or hazards to help correct issues.

If interested, please contact Kandi at the Senior Center, pass a background check and fill out application as well as complete pretraining and periodically have ongoing training.

This is rewarding for both you and your clients.

If you are interested in this program as a client and not a Companion, please contact me to be signed up. You are not required to fill out any paperwork, the program is free to you, must be 21 or older and qualify for need of services, such as mental health, disability, 60 and older, substance abuse history, Call Kandi for more questions or Toni at Action for Eastern Montana at 406-377-3564.

We are still in need of a Homemaker, please contact Kandi if you are interested! Up to 20 hours a week, you will set your schedule with your clients. It is a very flexible schedule. Please let me know if you are interested or would like additional details! At the moment we have 5 clients that could use the service to be up and running again! We are hoping to add more clients once the program is up and going again.

Tax season is here again, I will be searching for person(s) to assist folks with filing their income taxes. I was unsuccessful Last year but hoping I can get some help this year!
