Communication is interactive, well, good communication is. There is a back and forth, cause and effect. When I talk to my kiddos I like it when they acknowledge that I'm talking to them, take the communication in, and then respond appropriately to it. When God speaks to us, it should be similar.

Luke 8:18a, ESV says, “Take care then how you hear,..”

It's not enough to just hear - we need to “take care” in how we hear. We need to value, remember, and obey what God has said.
